Ever wish you could quit your job and travel the world doing what you love? I fantasized about it for years. My name is Lemuel Sison, aka Shaman; and after a near-death-induced epiphany, I realized that life was too short not to. Around the same time, I found myself freezing in line for a Halloween warehouse rave, where I bought my first pair of glow gloves from a sketchy van in the parking lot to keep warm. Little did I know the impact it would have on my life, changing its course forever.
If you are a glover active in the online community, chances are you’ve heard of or are a member of the infamous Glover’s Lounge. Glover’s Lounge is the biggest gloving based Facebook group with over twenty thousand members. It’s a staggering number, but a recurring trend we see is that a handful of glovers dominate the group with their posts. This got me to thinking: how do we encourage beginners to join the conversation without feeling intimidated by the space?
“Light Academy is a haven for like-minded individuals to share a passion with the notion that all scrutiny will be constructive and considerate.” -Chad Morris
The power of the lights we play with can produce a much more permanent image when captured in photos with slow shutter camera lenses. These pictures are a testament to the artist’s control over his lights and spacial awareness.
We took some of the trail art shots that spoke to us and posted them below. Brace yourself for some wild “paintings” if you will. Flow comes in all shapes and sizes. Check it out.

This week, we asked our sponsors: what light show do you watch for inspiration?
These are the shows our glovers go to for developing new concepts, combating glovers block or rediscovering flow, and each glover’s answer revealed a lot about his or her mentality as an artist.

After an unforgettable summer full of flow arts and festivals, orbiter Allazo has challenged the undisputed leader of the orbiting community, [ST] Torq, to a battle at TomorrowWorld. Both members are the only orbiters on this festival’s FaceMelt Crew, which includes glovers like [3M] Jest, [LLB] Starlight and [EF] Vulcan, but their battle has been highly anticipated since Allazo called Torq out on Starlight earlier this month.
If Toronto is any indication, igloos will no longer be a viable housing option with the amount of fire that is about to be thrown across Canada.
Toronto is home to Deadmau5, the CN Tower, the Maple Leafs, and to the surprise of many American glovers, Canada’s largest and fastest-growing gloving community the Frozen Face Melters [FFM].
Last weekend I got the opportunity to hangout with Scott and Derek from the acclaimed heaven trap duo Slander at Moonrise Festival in Baltimore. This was a great chance to catch up since last time we saw Scott, he was throwing down a crazy set for us at the International Gloving Championship ’14, honoring his gloving roots. These dudes dished out some great advice and showed a deep passion for the music, with a common root in gloving.
